Bram van Sambeek 

Dutch Star Bassoon player Bram van Sambeek (1980) is a prize winner for music and the bassoon. He won the Dutch Music Prize in 2009 and the Borletti Buttony Trust Award in 2011. New compositions by composers Kalevi Aho, Sebastian Fagerlund, and Vanessa Lann among others have been premiered and recorded by him. Jazz and Rock music are being exploi-ted by him. He is bassoon teacher at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague.

Alexandre Silverio

Brazilian born (1975) Alexandre Silvério is a bassoonist who plays both classical and jazz music at the highest level. Alexandre studied in Berlin at the Musik Hochschule and is principal bassoonist af the São Paulo State Symphony Orchestra (OSESP). His interest in Jazz music led him to play in different formations and write
innovative arrangements and compositions for bassoon.

Marlies van Gangelen

Oboist Marlies van Gangelen (1988) is founder of the Dutch experimental ensemble Perforator and performs with The Kyteman Orchestra and the Berlin-based ensemble St a r g a z e and co-operated with Terry Riley, Bill Frisell, Nils Frahm and Julia Holter. After receiving her Bachelor's in Classical Oboe, Van Gangelen studied in London where she developed new skills as composer, artistic leader, improviser and performer.

Piet van Bockstal

Since 1985 Piet van Bockstal is solo oboist of the Royal Philh. Orchestra of Flanders and for 18 yrs. the Orchestre Royal de Chambre de Wallonie.

He played the complete oboe repertoire as a soloist and he made 40+ CD recordings in which the anthologyy for Belgian music for oboe and chamber orchestra. Piet van Bockstal made a reputation as exquisite interpreter of contemporary Music; several composers like Kalevi Aho admissions works to him..

Bassoon repairman Maarten Vonk, a former player in the Schönberg Ensemble and the Dutch Ballet Orchestra is at home in the world of bassoon music and playing as well as in the field of ergonomics for the bassoon. (Dutch Leg Support).
His instrument repairshop in Amersfoort (the Netherlands) is well known by amateur and professional bassoonists all over the world.

Freek Sluijs

Pro bassoon. Your host at this festival

Freek Sluijs is 2nd bassoonist of the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra for 32 years. He was a member of the Dutch Hexagon Ensemble for 15 years. Freek is also working as an audio editor/producer for Challenge Classic Records and the ET'CETERA record label. Alongside he is focussing on school class teaching on music, improvisation, radio plays and recording techniques.

Peter Hendriksz graduated as an oboist at the Royal Conservatorie of The Hague and works as a player in several ensembles and orchestras. He is trained as an oboe repairman and is currently owner of Hobo-atelier van der Heide (Haarlem, the Netherlands) where he sells and repairs oboes to clients from all around the world.

Teacher at the Conservatorium Amsterdam

Dorine Jansma studied oboe at the Conservatorium of Amsterdam and her teachers were Han de Vriess, Carlo Ravelli and Jan Spronk. She did many summer courses were she met Pierre Pierlot, Thomas Indermühle and Samuel Baron. Dorine teaches at the Conservatoire of Amsterdam and she works there as study advisor as well.  She loves playing cantates and the passions of J.S Bach which she does very often with all sort of small orchestra’s.
